# Social Content

Expert social media content creation, scheduling, and optimization across all major platforms. The durable workflow is one voice foundation and one canonical long-form source feeding channel-specific derivatives, not seventeen disconnected content generators.

**Kevin-specific context:** Read the `content-strategy` skill for Kevin's positioning arc, content pillars, and quality gates. Read the `social-draft` skill for X/LinkedIn drafting rules and anti-patterns. This skill provides the general framework; those provide Kevin's personalized layer.

## Canonical Source Pipeline

Use this order for recurring content operations:

1. **Voice foundation** — compile a short identity brief and voice guide from Kevin's durable instructions plus representative writing. Do not infer a permanent voice from one viral post.
2. **Canonical source** — choose the primary essay, newsletter, launch note, project update, talk, or research artifact. Record its claims and citations before drafting derivatives.
3. **Content matrix** — map durable ideas to the channels and formats where they genuinely fit. A channel does not receive a derivative merely because it exists.
4. **Channel adaptation** — write each post, carousel, reel script, thumbnail brief, or pinned comment for that platform's constraints while preserving the same claim and voice.
5. **Approval boundary** — drafts, analysis, and local previews are safe defaults. Publishing, scheduling, sending DMs, changing profiles, spending ad budget, uploading customer lists, or mutating service data requires explicit approval and the service-specific skill.
6. **Feedback loop** — compare performance against the hypothesis, not vanity metrics alone. Write useful findings back into the voice guide, content strategy, or format rule; never let one outlier silently rewrite the system.

The `charlie947/social-media-skills` collection is strong source evidence for the voice → newsletter/source → derivatives → scoring loop. Its Apify, Gemini, Chrome, profile mutation, and publishing-adjacent routes are optional external boundaries, not prerequisites for this local workflow.

## Platform Quick Reference

| Platform | Best For | Frequency | Key Format |
|---|---|---|---|
| LinkedIn | B2B, thought leadership | 3-5x/week | Carousels, stories |
| X | Tech, real-time, community | 3-10x/day | Threads, hot takes |
| Instagram | Visual brands, lifestyle | 1-2 posts + Stories daily | Reels, carousels |
| TikTok | Brand awareness, younger audiences | 1-4x/day | Short-form video |
| Facebook | Communities, local businesses | 1-2x/day | Groups, native video |

## Content Pillars Framework

Build content around 3-5 pillars aligned with expertise and audience. Example for a SaaS founder:

| Pillar | % | Topics |
|---|---|---|
| Industry insights | 30% | Trends, data, predictions |
| Behind-the-scenes | 25% | Building the company, lessons |
| Educational | 25% | How-tos, frameworks, tips |
| Personal | 15% | Stories, values, hot takes |
| Promotional | 5% | Product updates, offers |

## Hook Formulas

**Curiosity:** "I was wrong about [common belief]." / "The real reason [outcome] isn't what you think." / "[Result] — and it only took [time]."

**Story:** "Last week, [unexpected thing] happened." / "I almost [failure]." / "3 years ago, I [past]. Today, [present]."

**Value:** "How to [outcome] (without [pain]):" / "[Number] [things] that [outcome]:" / "Stop [mistake]. Do this instead:"

**Contrarian:** "Unpopular opinion: [bold statement]" / "[Common advice] is wrong. Here's why:"

## Content Repurposing System

Turn one piece of content into many. Extract "content atoms" — self-contained moments from long-form content:

| Atom Type | What to Look For | Best Platform |
|---|---|---|
| Quotable moment | Bold claim, hot take (15-60s) | X, LinkedIn, TikTok |
| Story arc | Setup, conflict, resolution (60-90s) | Reels, TikTok, Shorts |
| Tactical tip | Specific how-to (30-60s) | LinkedIn, Shorts |
| Controversial take | Contrarian opinion | X, LinkedIn |
| Data/stat callout | Surprising number | LinkedIn carousel, X |
| Behind-the-scenes | Authentic moments | Stories, TikTok |

**Per long-form piece, aim for:** 3-5 short clips, 1-2 LinkedIn text posts, 1 X thread, 1 carousel, 1 newsletter section.

## Campaign-Scale Clipping Branch

Use this only when the user asks for founder clipping, a launch clip campaign,
omnipresence, a clipper network, or coordinated short-form distribution. For
ordinary repurposing, stop at the canonical-source pipeline above.

1. Read `wiki/concepts/clipping-content-strategy.md` and
   `wiki/workflows/content-pipeline-workflow.md`.
2. Freeze the rights-cleared source recording/transcript and its claims. Record
consent, confidentiality, identity, music/media rights, and the campaign's
   business objective.
3. Curate the complete source before editing. Candidate segments need in/out
timestamps, a standalone hook, complete payoff, context-fidelity check, and
target audience. Reject fragments that become misleading out of context.
4. Give every variant a stable ID and one primary hypothesis—hook, caption,
crop, cut, duration, platform, or account. Keep the source segment and other
relevant conditions attached so performance can be interpreted.
5. Review every derivative for voice, factual support, identity, brand safety,
captions/audio, accessibility, disclosure, rights, and platform policy.
6. Publishing, batch scheduling, account creation, clipper payments, ad spend,
profile changes, or takedowns require explicit service-specific authority.
Local drafts and previews remain the default.
7. Join published variants to timestamps, spend, retention/watch time,
saves/shares, qualified visits, direct/search lift, incidents, and the
declared observation window. Graduate only repeatable winners that also pass
quality and business-value review; preserve losers and reasons.

Do not convert “distribution at scale” into repetitive or minimally changed
uploads, fake engagement, undisclosed paid promotion, unlicensed reuse, or an
automated posting flood. YouTube treats mass-produced/repetitive and minimally
changed reused content as inauthentic and separately prohibits automated or
coordinated spam. TikTok can exclude unoriginal, low-quality, or undisclosed
commercial content from recommendation and requires its disclosure setting for
brand promotion. FTC guidance requires clear disclosure of material
connections and adequate advertiser pre-approval or monitoring. [Source:

## Engagement Strategy (30 min/day)

1. Respond to all comments on your posts (5 min)
2. Comment on 5-10 posts from target accounts (15 min)
3. Share/repost with added insight (5 min)
4. Send 2-3 DMs to new connections (5 min)

Quality comments: add new insight, share related experience, ask thoughtful follow-up, respectfully disagree with nuance. Never "Great post!"

## Analytics & Optimization

**Metrics that matter:** Engagement rate, comments (higher value than likes), shares/reposts, saves, link clicks, follower growth rate.

**Weekly review:** Top 3 / bottom 3 posts (why?), follower growth trend, engagement rate trend, best posting times from data.

**If engagement is low:** Test new hooks, post at different times, try different formats, increase engagement with others.

**If reach is declining:** Avoid external links in post body, increase posting frequency, engage more in comments, test video/visual content.

## Reverse Engineering Viral Content

1. Find 10-20 high-engagement creators in your niche
2. Collect 500+ posts for analysis
3. Analyze patterns: hooks, formats, CTAs
4. Codify repeatable playbook
5. Layer your voice with authenticity
6. Bridge attention to business results
