Coder Apps Bundle

A bookmark bundle of developer-facing app tools: form building, uptime monitoring, app hosting, Markdown documentation, and AI-assisted product discovery. Treat it as a discovery shelf, not a single product recommendation.

Root contents

Tool What it is Current source state Route
HeyForm Open-source conversational form builder. heyform/heyform is AGPL-3.0, default branch next, 8,925 stars; final v3.0.0 shipped 2026-08-06. Recommend when self-hosting or form-data control justifies owning storage, mail/uploads, abuse controls, backups, upgrades, and AGPL obligations.
Checkmate Self-hosted uptime, infrastructure, incident, and status-page monitoring. bluewave-labs/checkmate is AGPL-3.0, default branch develop, 10,507 stars; v3.10.0 shipped 2026-07-28 and moved deployment to one ghcr.io/bluewave-labs/checkmate image. Recommend for owned availability and hardware monitoring; do not present it as application-error tracing, product analytics, or a no-operations service.
Sevalla Kinsta-operated PaaS for applications, databases, static sites, object storage, and load balancers. Official surfaces now include REST API v3, CLI 1.10.0, Terraform, and an OAuth MCP server; application/database hosting starts at $5/month, with usage-dependent cost. Evaluate when reducing infrastructure work is the stated goal; benchmark cost, regions, preview/recovery behavior, and agent mutation authority against the incumbent.
DocMD Markdown-to-static-docs engine with local search, llms outputs, stdio MCP, Mermaid, and OKF graph export. @docmd/core and docmd-io/docmd are MIT 0.9.1, released 2026-08-10; the repo has 2,242 stars, CI, contract/integration tests, and security tests. Preferred candidate for a new standalone agent-readable docs site; keep Kevin Wiki's custom graph/UI and incumbent project docs in place.
VARCHIVE Cameron Moll's editorial gallery of AI-assisted products and credited creation tools. The current gallery exposes concrete products and tool combinations; its terms disclaim the safety, quality, accuracy, and availability of featured work. Feed Frontend Frontier Radar Workflow as discovery evidence, then inspect the underlying product before promoting a rule or dependency.

Decision

No executable skill or global install is warranted. The source changes routing, not the base environment. Capability Routing Map owns the job-shaped choices for forms, self-hosted monitoring, PaaS deployment, and standalone docs.

DocMD is the strongest cross-system signal. Its 0.9.1 release can emit a typed Open Knowledge Format bundle with an index, log, concept files, graph data, and a static viewer. That makes it a credible candidate for a deterministic public projection of Kevin's operating graph, but not a new canonical store. Any pilot must derive from authored registries and public pages, preserve digests, pass privacy tests, and remain rebuildable under Generated Surface Contract.

The adoption boundary matters: DocMD permits raw HTML by default unless a project selects security.html: escape or strip, and some doctor, search, plugin, and process-management commands can invoke package managers or local process tools. Review the exact project configuration and command authority before use. Source: DocMD 0.9.1 source archive and tests, inspected 2026-08-10

The 22-second 1916×1080 video is not a HeyForm demo. It scrolls VARCHIVE and opens featured work including ivan.codes and Time Zone Globe. The artifact is therefore evidence for an editorial design/product discovery source, not proof of HeyForm or of the featured products. Separate follow-up reply shelf

The later reply names CSS Toggle Library, Trophy UI, Orbit, OpenPanel, and a data-visualization component library. Keep those leads, but do not count them as the fifth root artifact. The normalized root record has no self-thread or artifact replies, so the follow-up needs its own captured revision and resolved destinations before this shelf can be called complete.

Timeline

  • 2026-08-10 | Replayed all five root destinations and the complete local video; corrected VARCHIVE as the fifth root artifact, refreshed every version/service surface, made conditional recommendation routes explicit, preserved DocMD 0.9.1, and kept the later reply shelf separate. • 2026-06-22 | Original bookmark captured HeyForm, Checkmate, Sevalla, DocMD, and VARCHIVE as "essential apps every coder should know." Source: X/@csaba_kissi, 2026-06-22
  • 2026-06-24 | Reply added toggles, Trophy UI, Orbit, OpenPanel, and a data-viz component source. These remain deferred until full artifact resolution. Source: X/@csaba_kissi, 2026-06-24
  • 2026-06-30 | Created bundle page during one-by-one bookmark review; checked HeyForm, Checkmate, and DocMD live repo/package versions and classified the video as VARCHIVE discovery media rather than HeyForm proof. Source: GitHub CLI/npm checks, 2026-06-30
