ComputeSDK

Open-source, provider-agnostic TypeScript SDK giving you one unified API over many code-execution sandbox providers (E2B, Modal, Daytona, Vercel, Cloudflare, CodeSandbox, Runloop, Tensorlake, …). What it is

ComputeSDK's current introduction describes both a multi-provider benchmark harness and a TypeScript sandbox SDK. Provider packages expose a common sandbox interface. Use Agent Sandboxes to select the underlying execution boundary; a shared API does not establish equivalent snapshots, credentials, networking, or recovery. Current evidence

The former /getting-started/introduction URL now returns a moved-page response. The current introduction is /getting-started/readme.md. npm computesdk latest was 4.1.8 when checked on 2026-09-25. Pin core and provider package versions together before implementing examples; older API sketches on this page are not a current contract. Source: ComputeSDK introduction; Source: npm registry

Relevance to Agent Machines / Dedalus

ComputeSDK is effectively the open-source generalization of Agent Machines' substrate-routing axis: AM's MachineProvider adapters (E2B / Sprites / Dedalus / Vercel) are the same "one API over many sandbox providers" idea. The scopes differ — ComputeSDK unifies the sandbox layer only, while Agent Machines layers persistence, agent-runtime routing, the browser console, and fleet management on top ("more than a sandbox — a home"; see Persistent Sandbox Thesis). A @computesdk/dedalus provider would slot Dedalus Machines into the ComputeSDK ecosystem. It also collapses the Agent Sandboxes provider ecosystem into a single typed interface.
