FMHY
Retained, high-signal open-web catalog whose curation, source distribution, safety annotations, and generated search projections can improve capability discovery. It enters Kevin-Wiki through a guarded manifest adapter, not as blanket trust or install authority.
FMHY is a large VitePress-style directory for "free stuff on the internet." The reviewed screenshot shows the live site with a left navigation for categories such as adblocking/privacy, AI, movies, music, gaming, books, downloading, torrenting, education, Android/iOS, Linux/macOS, non-English, and miscellaneous. The visible movie section includes an explicit tip about checking grading pages, using adblockers, VPNs, and throwaway or alias emails. Source: local artifact, 2026-06-30
The durable lesson is about index infrastructure. A volunteer index can outperform general search for a narrow class of resources because it adds human curation, categories, status notes, mirrors, and practical safety annotations. That is the same shape Kevin's wiki needs for tools and sources: raw links become maintained evidence with revision checks, aliases, warnings, and explicit promotion boundaries.
Decision
Keep and integrate FMHY as a guarded discovery source. The previous "reference page, not an agent route" decision was too coarse. Agents may use its legitimate tool, privacy, developer, education, self-hosting, and open-source signals when a named job needs them. They must not bulk-promote the catalog, infer trust from FMHY's labels, or use the system to locate or facilitate unauthorized copyrighted content.
Guarded Catalog Adapter
npm run harvest:fmhy
The adapter snapshots FMHY's Git tree as file-level, content-addressed
metadata. The 2026-08-11 run retained 85 catalog pages and 101 supporting
notes from fmhy/edit@72ea2b5 while emitting zero candidate URLs. Seven
media-heavy catalog pages are explicitly high-risk; the other 78 are
review-first, not "safe." Candidate projection is disabled by default
because this is a mixed-risk catalog and the main FMHY / edit / bookmarks
repositories have no detected license. Source: local
raw/registries/web-catalogs/2026-08-11/fmhy.json, 2026-08-11
This adds a second external-catalog mode to Agent Capability Registry:
- Enumerated discovery adapter for a broadly legitimate catalog whose candidate metadata can be safely projected, such as Awesome-Mac.
- Guarded manifest adapter for a useful mixed-risk or rights-unclear catalog. Preserve revision, hashes, paths, counts, and diffs; inspect only a bounded legitimate slice when a real workflow needs it.
For a bounded request, the agent names the missing capability, runs or reads the snapshot, opens only the relevant source page and lines, verifies each shortlist at its official site/repository, checks license and maintenance, deduplicates against existing owners, and then promotes through the normal router. Popularity and catalog placement only raise review priority.
What To Borrow
- One canonical source, many consumer projections.
fmhy/editis the maintained catalog;fmhy/bookmarksgenerates importable browser bookmarks and a Brave Search Goggle every week. Kevin-Wiki should likewise generate search, graph, API, and agent views from one canonical object/source layer. - Diffable human curation. Contributions ask for tested links, explicit reasons for removal or rank changes, and a discussion path for structural edits. That resembles the evidence-driven source-review contract.
- Mirrors are availability, not authority. FMHY publishes official and community mirrors. Kevin-Wiki should keep redundant readable projections, while every projection still points to one revisioned source of truth.
- Status plus reasons beats a bare score. SafeGuard exposes starred, safe, unsafe, potentially unsafe, and unknown states plus notes/reasons. Kevin's registries should preserve the same separation between source assertion, local verdict, and evidence.
SafeGuard Review
SafeGuard is a real GPL-3.0 browser extension, currently v1.4.0, not merely a
marketing claim. Its Chromium manifest requests storage, tabs, alarms,
and contextMenus; it reads FMHY safe, unsafe, reason, and note sources from
mutable main branches and can redirect an unsafe tab to an extension warning
page. That makes it a useful inspectable reference for browser reputation UX,
but not an independent security authority. It is not installed globally.
Any adoption requires a pinned build, source/permission review, disposable
profile trial, update-channel analysis, false-positive/negative fixtures, and
an uninstall/rollback check. Source: fmhy/FMHY-SafeGuard@f2ad721, Chromium manifest and background service worker;

Claim Boundaries
The viral X post is a strong discovery signal because of its specificity and engagement, but it is not authority for its claims about Google, Reddit, trade groups, volunteer count, domains, or organizational structure. The reviewed primary surfaces prove an actively maintained catalog, multiple official and community mirrors, generated bookmark/search projections, and an extension; the remaining historical and political claims stay unverified rather than being repeated as facts.
Version Snapshot
FMHY has no public package version. Current source authority is:

Stack Fit
FMHY is an active discovery source, not an active executable tool. Use it only after an intent-specific route or official registry leaves a gap. Every selected target still needs direct official verification; no FMHY star, safe/unsafe status, popularity number, mirror, or "free" label bypasses that gate. Do not expose or recommend high-risk branches, install SafeGuard globally, import the generated bookmarks, or republish the catalog by default.
