Impeccable

Impeccable gives coding agents persistent product/design context, a shared design vocabulary, and deterministic anti-slop checks instead of relying on one giant aesthetic prompt.

Routing Summary

Use Kevin's local design system and taste rules as the standing constraint layer. For a blank slate or an intentional visual replacement, route direction discovery through Impeccable v4's reproducible world builder before implementation. For a new section or scoped refinement, preserve the incumbent visual world and use the local polish routes plus Impeccable's detector or review vocabulary. Do not silently install its project hooks: inspect the generated skill and hook manifest, then choose project-local installation when the route is warranted. Why It Matters

Impeccable turns “be creative” into a decision process rather than a stronger adjective. V4 externally seeds one grounded direction, deals six challenger worlds from a weighted pool of 188 human-reviewed worlds, records a reproducible seed key, presents one committed direction, renders a design-system board and first-surface mock, then audits the implementation against a five-block intent contract. The worlds are challengers, not templates; product truth and project constraints can defeat them. Source: Impeccable skill-v4.0.4 release, reviewed 2026-08-10

The current skill detects whether work is a blank slate, redesign, added section, or scoped refinement so the freedom budget changes with the job. Its 23-command vocabulary still covers critique, audit, polish, harden, animate, typeset, adapt, optimize, and related work, while the CLI and browser extension expose 59 deterministic rules. Native iOS and Android paths exist, but the launch described them as alpha; treat VoiceOver/TalkBack and Apple HIG/Material guidance as an evaluated route, not proof of mature native coverage. Adoption Boundary

Situation Route
Blank slate or true redesign Use the v4 direction roll, rendered board/mock, intent contract, then local tokenization
New section or scoped refinement Preserve the incumbent world; use local polish plus targeted Impeccable review
Project needs durable design context Evaluate /impeccable init, PRODUCT.md, DESIGN.md, and surface briefs
Repeatable anti-pattern enforcement Evaluate the 59 deterministic detectors and project-local hooks
Third-party install requested Inspect source, run skill/security audit, then choose project-local before global

Impeccable and Hallmark

Hallmark is a complementary challenger, not a reason to replace the local design system or install a second global design router. Use Impeccable when the job needs reproducible world selection, a committed direction, a rendered board/mock, and an implementation intent contract. Evaluate Hallmark when the job specifically needs macrostructure/theme exploration, a study pass that extracts design DNA from a screenshot or URL, or an audit against its current 57 slop-test gates. Hallmark's current source exposes 21 themes and four verbs—build, audit, redesign, and study—and can emit a portable design.md; it explicitly refuses pixel clones and paid-template copying. Do not blindly stack both systems' hooks and rules. Choose one direction generator for the run, preserve Kevin's incumbent tokens and accessibility requirements as the authority, and use the other only as a named critic when it adds a distinct test. A passing anti-slop checklist is not proof of fit, originality, or visual quality; the rendered surface still needs human and browser review.

Current Snapshot

As checked on 2026-08-10, the Apache-2.0 repository has 57,787 stars and 3,534 forks, main HEAD 251135e1900662ed048dda391211f1895ab42d7e, current skill release skill-v4.0.4, and npm installer impeccable@3.5.0. Keep the skill, CLI/npm, and browser-extension version streams distinct. The current README documents npx impeccable install, npx impeccable update, and harness-aware provider targets including Claude, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, Grok Build, and Mistral Vibe. Timeline

  • 2026-08-10 | Added Hallmark as a retained complementary route: Impeccable owns reproducible world/intent contracts; Hallmark is an alternative for theme and macrostructure exploration, design-DNA study, and its 57-gate audit. Global double-install remains prohibited. Source: GitHub Nutlope/hallmark HEAD 13ac0ec
  • 2026-08-10 | Integrated the v4 world-builder launch and current upstream source. Greenfield/redesign work now routes through reproducible direction selection, a rendered board/mock, and a bounded intent review; additions and refinements preserve the incumbent world. Current source snapshot: skill-v4.0.4, impeccable@3.5.0, 59 deterministic rules. Source: X/@pbakaus 2079984598105358828; GitHub and npm APIs; Impeccable v4 skill and release
  • 2026-07-14 | Promoted from a row in UI Skills Pack to a dedicated design-tool route; retained as reviewed external source until a project explicitly adopts it. Source: User request, 2026-07-14
